WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) helps low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs and increase comfort and safety in their homes. Individuals, families, the elderly and the disabled who are making no more than 200 percent of the current federal poverty income level are eligible for help. However, priority is given to the elderly and disabled, households with high-energy consumption, emergency situations and homes with preschool-age children.
Participating households average nearly 33 percent in savings, or approximately $285 per year, after the completion of weatherization improvements.
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) has an extensive waiting list so a priority point system was put in place by the State of Utah.

Cut Cooling Costs
*Turn the Air Conditioner down at night.
*Control direct sunlight through windows. Use blinds, screens, awnings, etc. in the summer to keep cool.
*Ceiling fans can be used with and in place of air conditioners. Use them to circulate the cool air and reduce usage of air conditioner.
*Remember during peak usage times of the year, replace or clean your cooling equipment’s filters often.
